I'm soooo excited!

I have real actual followers!  Welcome, welcome, welcome!

I'm also excited because I just got my new laptop today!  I'm like a kid at Christmas!  I can't wait for the weekend so I can spend some time exploring it.

Well, I spent today in a training session to learn about the 4 new math series our district is considering for K-8.  I am one of the pilot teachers and we are going to spend 9 weeks exploring them in our classroom.

By the end of the day, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed!

There were definitely 2 choices that could work well in kindergarten but the other 2 I'm a bit nervous about.

These are the 4 choices and they all align with the CCSS:

Go! Math

My Math

Math in Focus

enVision Math

I would love to know if any of you currently use one of these series (at any grade level) and what do you think of it...  :)

  1. We are piloting Go!Math this year. I do really like how it is aligned to the CCSS. We have the teacher's guides, regular student work books and enrichment work books. We did not get the supplemental materials for the pilot. Some of the lessons and work pages can get a bit repetitive and the kids get a little bored. I still find myself supplementing with my own activities. That of course would probably be the case with any program we use though. =)
